Henry Accounting & Consulting is more than a business—it’s a dream brought to life by Isreal J. Henry, whose passion for accounting began in high school. While many teenagers were still exploring their paths, Isreal found his calling in numbers. His high school accounting classes laid the foundation for a journey that would shape his future.
After graduating, Isreal began his career at Fission Etax, a small accounting firm led by CEO Armando Jarvis. Starting as a junior accountant and bookkeeper, he gained hands-on experience preparing taxes for individuals and small businesses. Each challenge strengthened his skills and fueled his desire to advance his education and career.
Isreal earned his Associate of Science in Business and continued his studies at UTD, later enrolling at HBCU Paul Quinn College, where he will graduate in 2025 with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. As the first in his family to graduate from college, this milestone is a testament to his perseverance and commitment to breaking barriers.
Over the course of 20 years, Isreal established an impressive career in both public and nonprofit accounting, collaborating with industry leaders such as KPMG, Neiman Marcus, Dean Foods, and corporations like Rent-A-Center and 7-Eleven. He also made a significant impact in the nonprofit sector, including his work with Methodist Hospital, and served as Treasurer for aspiring elected officials. However, his journey was not without its challenges.
During the economic downturns, layoffs, and uncertainties of the COVID era, Isreal faced formidable challenges. In 2023 and 2024, he shouldered the weight of financial hardships, personal pain, and professional struggles, all while selflessly caring for his disabled mother and grandmother. These experiences highlighted the instability of corporate jobs and fueled his determination to forge his own path. The loss of his mentor, Armando C. Jarvis, in 2018 the man who gave Isreal his first accounting opportunity deepened his understanding of the importance of building a legacy. Inspired by Armando’s influence, Isreal committed himself to creating meaningful opportunities for both him and others.
